A licensed international stylist and hair care professional, Kim is a master of her craft and highly respected in the industry for her innovative hair weaving techniques and continuing education series for stylists.

In addition to serving as a long-time consultant for the Beverly Johnson Wig collection, Kim’s creations have also appeared on “Oprah” guests, and Def Jam Records’ musical acts, to name a few.

Kim has captured the span of ideals in appearance for more than 25 years in motion pictures, print work, theatrical productions and daily living.

In April 2011, Kim retired from the State Board of Cosmetology for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, concluding six years of service to cosmetology professionals, students and clients statewide.

Kim gives back to the community in numerous ways, including lending her talents to the American Cancer Society.

Shadonnah Saunders

Blue Sage Hair Wellness marks the second time Shadonnah has worked alongside Kim in a salon setting. Shadonnah joined the beauty industry 15 years ago, when she enrolled in Empire Beauty School's Cosmetology program, successfully completing it and the school's Teaching program. Shadonnah has also attended Sisterlocks certification courses, among other technique classes. She continues to expand her skills and follow emerging trends and techniques in the beauty industry.

Shadonnah specializes in natural styling for women and men, advanced weaving techniques, chemical services and children's hair care. Plus, she's consulted and performed non-surgical services for clients coping with hair loss. Her clients' needs and wants are Shadonnah's first priority, and she's well-versed in going above and beyond for them. She believes that focusing on healthy hair goals is the foundation of creating a positive salon service every time. Shadonnah's approach to customer service has built a loyal following.

Shadonnah has joined Kim in supporting the community, lacing up her sneakers to participate in the Philadelphia Mother's Day Race for the Cure sponsored by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Jackie Austin

Some of you may recognize Jackie--she rejoins Kim & Shadonnah from a previous salon. Licensed since 1999, she received her cosmetology education at the Berean Institute, earning awards along the way. She's worked with one of Philly's top natural hair stylists, and trained directly under Sisterlocks creator Dr. Cornwell herself in the patented technique. Jackie is well-versed in hair textures and styling techniques for women and men; she's passionate about natural hair. She and her two daughters are all locked and loving it--also making Jackie a great person to ask about natural hair care for children!

Miriah Yancey

Beginning in 2015, a familiar face has rejoined the Blue Sage team. Miriah started in 2012 as a jr. salon assistant at our original location on Sherwood Road. For a year and a half, she learned our techniques and approach to customer service, earning a promotion to sr. salon assistant. Upon graduating a year early from Lamberton High School, Miriah left Blue Sage to expand her cosmetology education at the Jean Madeline Aveda Institute in University City. Now she has experience working with all hair types, mixing color pigment from scratch, as well as styling with the Aveda product line. Whether you need a full highlight or a cut, Miriah is more than capable of providing you with an excellent look.
